The family of Tamir Rice \u2014 the 12-year-old boy shot and killed by Cleveland police in 2014 \u2014 will receive a $6 million settlement from the city, according to an announcement in United States District Court on Monday.<\/p>\n

Cleveland did not admit to any fault in the settlement, which allows the city to avoid a potential federal civil rights trial that would have examined the city’s police force.\u00a0<\/p>\n
