Egyptian police arrested 382 people during and ahead of protests on April 25 in an attempt to stifle civil disobedience before it could really begin.<\/p>\n

Those arrested included 33 journalists, all but two<\/a> who have been released, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Many others are still being held.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested at least 286<\/a> people on the actual day of protest, April 25, according to Human Rights Watch.<\/p>\n
