The U.S. has started “dropping cyberbombs” on ISIS computer networks, according to a recent\u00a0<\/span>New York Times<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>report<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The term “cyberbomb” sounds like something out of a novel, and it’s a new tool in the fight against ISIS. In fact, the Obama administration’s mere mention of using cyberattacks runs counter to years of not officially admitting to offensive cyber tactics. But the term really conveys complex, ongoing electronic-based operations rather than boom-you’re-dead malware attacks.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are ‘cyberbombs’?<\/h2>\n
