To mark National Teacher’s Appreciation Day, President Barack Obama paid a touching tribute to one very important educator in his life \u2014 his 5th grade teacher Mabel Hefty.<\/p>\n

“To my 5th grade teacher Ms. Mabel Hefty and the educators who inspire our young people every single day: Thank you,” Obama tweeted Tuesday along with a photo of the class of pre-teens.<\/p>\n

There are some seriously ’70s plaids and prints going on in the picture, and a young Obama can be seen grinning in the back row.\u00a0<\/p>\n
