A strong solar storm impacted Earth from Sunday night into the wee hours of Monday morning, and it produced some incredible auroras for observers with clear skies in high latitudes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), the solar storm reached the G3 level<\/a> at its peak, potentially producing northern lights as far south as\u00a0Illinois.<\/p>\n
