Long lines at airport security checkpoints are attracting attention ahead of the summer travel season.<\/p>\n

The problem has become so conspicuous that officials in a handful of cities are now discussing how they can take airport security into their own hands. New York City, Chicago and Phoenix are among the biggest cities who are putting the Transportation Security Administration on notice.<\/p>\n

In Chicago, four\u00a0aldermen are suggesting the city should privatize security at O’Hare and Midway airports.
