A smartphone with 4K<\/a> display sounds like overkill for daily use, but for use with VR, it would mean sharper virtual worlds with fewer visible pixels. Where do we sign up?<\/p>\n

Samsung<\/a> showed off a new 5.5-inch 4K resolution smartphone designed for VR at the Display Week conference in San Francisco reports UploadVR<\/a><\/i>. The “high resolution for VR” screen has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 with an 806 ppi.<\/p>\n

Samsung’s current flagship phones \u2014 the Galaxy S7<\/a> and S7 Edge<\/a> \u2014 only have Quad HD resolution (2,560 x 1,440).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, Sony launched the Xperia Z5 Premium<\/a>, the world’s first smartphone with a 4K display. It has the same resolution and pixel density as Samsung’s special VR display Read more…<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
