\u2014 A gunman has killed at least 50 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2014 At least 53 others have been taken to nearby hospitals<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2014 Club posted on its Facebook page, “Everyone get out and keep running”<\/b><\/p>\n

A gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in the early hours of Sunday morning, killing approximately 50 people and wounding at least 53 others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shooter,\u00a0<\/span>identified by various media outlets as Omar Mateen, was shot and killed by police, according to Police chief John Mina.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s appears he was organized and well-prepared,” the chief said at a press conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shooting reportedly opened fire around 2 a.m. EST, briefly exchanging fire with a police officer before entering the club.\u00a0At 5 a.m. local time, police decided to attempt to rescue the hostages.
