LONDON \u2014 Eight months before the Iraq war, the then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair wrote to George W. Bush saying he would be with him “whatever,” the chairman of a long-awaited inquiry said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In presenting the results of a seven-year inquiry into the Iraq war, Sir John Chilcot said that on July 29, 2002, Blair wrote a confidential memo to Bush saying “I will be with you, whatever.”<\/p>\n

The inquiry concluded that the UK “chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options for disarmament were exhausted.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
