Security at New Year’s Eve celebrations around the world is expected to be tighter and more visible than it has been in years on Thursday, as many nations are still on high alert following recent extremist attacks in Paris, Beirut, and San Bernardino, California<\/p>\n

Around 6,000<\/a> New York Police Department officers will fill Times Square on Thursday as revelers celebrate during the nation’s most famous New Year’s Eve party. London’s celebrations will be marked with fireworks and around 3,000<\/a> police patrolling the city’s downtown<\/p>\n
