Thousands of police officers deployed across the streets of London didn’t put off the huge crowds that gathered to watch the city’s spectacular fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

All available staff, including hundreds of specially trained firearms officers, were drafted in by Scotland Yard for the ticketed event, which the London Eye was the focus of<\/p>\n
