ASTM D3822 measures of monotonic tensile properties of both natural and man-made single textile fibers that are of sufficient length to permit mounting into a tensile testing machine. Individual fibers are usually very fragile and easy to slip via testing. Figure 1 shows the single fiber specimen mounting on the cardboard paper.
