BIOGRAPHY

Mohd Zul Hanif Mahmud joined Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as a senior lecturer in the Department of Geotechnics and Transportation since February 2020. He graduated from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in 2011 with Bachelor in Civil Engineering before he completed his Master in Highway and Transportation Engineering from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. He pursued his study on PhD level at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia on February 2013 and successfully completed on October 2019. Since then, he has prolonged his interest in pavement engineering and also thrive into traffic and transportation. As a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), I am keen to teach my student to develop an interest in research/industry demand led to teaching philosophy. The core of my teaching responsibilities is Traffic Engineering. My research focused on transportation and pavement engineering mainly on bus transportation issues and traffic noise. The research area covers the experimental work, questionnaires, interviews, traffic noise characterisations, and microstructure study.

Pavement and transportation research group (ptrg)

Pavement & Transportation Research Group (PTRG) comprises a group of researchers and technical consultants from the Department of Geotechnics and Transportation, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai. The establishment of the group is in line with the national aspiration towards the creation of technology-oriented society with the emphasis on the application of scientific principles for problem solving. The main focus of the group is those areas related to transportation sectors such as highway and pavement design and analysis and the planning, design and management of transportation systems and infrastructure. Material science, evaluation and design are also given special emphasis by the group.
