Dr. Muhammad Najib Razali is a full-time lecturer with the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. He has a wealth of academic experience spanning 15 years in the property economics and finance fields.
Dr. Razali has been active in academic writing. His research and writing interests include property investment analysis in developing countries, property portfolio management, the international property market, information technology application in real estate and knowledge management in property. During the past year he has been busy writing and co-writing technical papers on various topics of interest, particularly in the property market area and presenting papers at both local and international conferences. Dr. Razali has written in excess of 100 technical papers for conferences, seminars and international journals.
Dr. Razali is also a professional reviewer for several high-ranking journals such as Urban Studies, Property Management, International Journal Strategic Property Management, International Business Review and International Journal of Housing Management Analysis. He is an active speaker for local seminars and conferences, discussing Malaysian property issues. Dr. Razali has published several books such “Expert Forecast on Property Markets”, “Sustainable and Green Property Management” and “Property Portfolio Management in Malaysia”. Dr. Razali also published several book chapters namely “Routledge Research Handbook on Real Estate Investment Trusts” and “Contemporary Issues of Housing in Malaysia”.
Dr. Razali is heavily involved in strengthening academic activities between Malaysia and Australia, particularly with his alma mater, Western Sydney University. Dr. Razali currently serves as a board member of the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES), Australia, representing the Asian region. This is the third term for Dr. Razali as a board member. Dr. Razali also serve as Science Board Member, Capital Market of Turkey and Expert Panel for National Real Estate Research Grant (NAPREC), Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. Dr. Muhammad Najib also has been appointed as guest lecturer at Virginia Tech Universitu, United States of America.
Along his career, he has received many awards including best paper awards for several local conferences, best service award by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Sam Cucurollo Award for Property Leadership by Western Sydney University and Emerald’s Literati Award 2019.
At university Dr. Razali teaches real estate finances modules at both the undergraduate and post-graduates’ courses. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Western Sydney University, Australia. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Information Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Property Management from Universiti Teknologi, Malaysia.
