Workshop on Life Science Solutions in Electron Microscopy at UTM
Johor Bahru, 10 September 2024 — Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) proudly hosted a workshop titled “Life Science Solutions in Electron Microscopy” at the Ibnu Sina Institute, UTM Johor Bahru. The event, held from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, brought together experts and researchers to explore cutting-edge applications of electron microscopy in the life sciences.
The workshop featured two distinguished speakers: Charles Hooi from Novatia Scientific and Ena Sabreena Sya Rizal from Bruker Nano Analytics. Both speakers provided in-depth insights into the capabilities and solutions that electron microscopy offers for life science research, including its role in high-resolution imaging and structural analysis of biological materials.
Assoc. Prof. Ts. ChM. Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam, the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials (CSNano), officiated the event. In his opening remarks, Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam emphasized the importance of advanced microscopy tools in enhancing UTM’s research capabilities, particularly in the fields of biomaterials, nanotechnology, and life sciences.
The workshop attracted a diverse audience of academics, researchers, and students, offering a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Organized by UTM’s Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials (CSNano) and the Electron Microscopy and Imaging Unit (EMIUTM), the event marks another step towards UTM’s goal of becoming a hub for advanced research in nanoscience and life science solutions.
This event was supported by Novatia Scientific, Bruker Nano Analytics, and the Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials (CSNano), Ibnu Sina Institute.
