Dr. Nik Mohd Ridzuan Shaharuddin<\/strong> received his B.Eng. (Mechanical Engineering \u2013 Marine Technology) and Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He joined UTM as a Senior Lecturer in 2015 and currently serves as the <strong>Director of the Marine Technology Centre (MTC)<\/strong>. He conducted his PhD research on active suppression techniques for vortex-induced vibration (VIV). His current research interests focus on the development of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), including detailed analyses of stability, resistance, seakeeping, manoeuvring performance, as well as automation systems such as waypoint following and obstacle avoidance. He actively teaches several undergraduate courses, including Naval Architecture, Ship Structures, Ship Resistance, and Ship Engineering Drawing. Ir Dr Nik Mohd Ridzuan is heavily involved in towing-tank testing and hydrodynamic consultations at the Marine Technology Centre, contributing to both local and international industry projects.
