PROF.DR. HAMDANI SAIDI
I have known Professor Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah Saidina Amin for about 30 years. She has a pleasant personality and is highly disciplined. Her accomplishment as an academician is par excellence. As the Dean of faculty, I recalled that she has demonstrated leadership and academic ability from the early stage of her career. She was involved with research, supervised Masters students and final year projects and headed several research projects at UTM level. After she finished her PhD, Prof Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah becomes a more prominent researcher. She won the gold medal at INATEX 1999 and repeated the success in 2001. At the international level, Prof Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah has many publications in high impact journals in the applied catalysis and energy research areas. Over the years, Prof Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah has led many research projects at the national and international levels. She has been appointed as consultants for several chemical projects in the country. She has received many international and national accolades for her research work and is among the pioneers in applying catalysts for biomass conversion to fuels. She is also actively involved with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (Malaysia) where she is a Fellow. She has participated in many national and international conferences as a speaker or keynote. She is also a professional and chartered engineer. She also has o contributed significantly to the curriculum development at the faculty and university level. She has been appointed as editors, reviewers and thesis examiners, which proved that she is among the leading experts in the field of chemical reaction engineering. The number of PhD students graduated under her supervision is 14. Currently she is supervising 5 PhDs and 1 Masters students.
