This course formally introduces the steps involved in engineering analysis (mathematical modelling, solving the governing equation, and interpretation of the results). Examples of case studies in applied mechanics, strength of materials, thermal science, and fluid mechanics are presented. Methods for solving the nonlinear equations, simultaneous linear algebraic equations, eigenvalue problem, interpolation, numerical differentiation, numerical integration, initial value problems, boundary value problems and partial differential equations are introduced.<\/span><\/p>\n
