About me

Ir. Dr. Norhayani Othman is a senior lecturer at  Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She also a researcher in the Enhanced Polymer Research Group (EnPro),  an associate member of Centre for Advanced Composite Materials (CACM) and a member of Material and Manufacturing Research Alliance (MMRA). She has a first degree and a master degree in Polymer Engineering from UTM and received her PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from The University of British Columbia, Canada in the year of 2012. Her master degree thesis is on characterisation of toughened polyamide 6/polypropylene nanocomposites. During PhD she studied the melt and processing behavior of polylactic acid and their enantiomeric copolymers and blends. Her current research interest includes plastic waste management, crystallisation and degradation behavior of recycled plastics and biopolymers, melt rheology and processing.
