Self-professed \u201cMovie’s limited edition DVD\/Blu-ray aficionado and a super die-hard fan of Celtic, Manchester City & Kedah\u201d, Norhazilan Md Noor accepted his PhD in the field of reliability engineering from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Scotland in 2007 (end up with a completely bald scalp!<\/em>). He is currently serving as a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (this place is huge!\u00a0I even forgot where I parked my car<\/em>). He served as the Principal of student residential college and Academic manager of postgraduate (research) from 2011 to 2015. He currently serves as Assistant Dean (Continuing & Transnational Education) of Faculty Engineering and Deputy Director of Construction Research Centre. His primary interest includes the development of soil-corrosion model for tropical region, probabilistic-based reliability assessment software for pipeline integrity management, risk assessment approach for deteriorating infrastructure, non-physical inhibitor for mitigating microbial-influenced corrosion and new material for pipeline repair (have some weird affection for astronomy and astrophysics<\/em>). He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Malaysian Journal of Civil Engineering, the longest serving civil engineering journal in Malaysia and also the editor of several other international journals. Dr Norhazilan Md Noor has already published more than 200 articles, journals and conference proceedings with several best publications awards. He has considerable experience in global networking and world university ranking exercise. He has also been privileged to participate in the ASEAN University Network (AUN\/SEED.net) networking as a member of working group and field management meeting since 2012 and several Erasmus+ project funded by European Union. He pro-actively involves in MOU initiatives between UTM and global research partner in ASEAN, Japan and Korea (I’m a big fan of Song Ji Hyo<\/em>). He is the recipient of Special Award for Innovation in 2013 by the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Award Committee (no prize money though!<\/em>). He has gathered more than 30 major awards locally and internationally for his contribution in research, teaching and administration (I’m\u00a0a highly\u00a0motivated and law-abiding Pokemon Go player)<\/em><\/p>\n
