Norshahida binti Azili was born and grew up in Kota Tinggi, Johor. She is a wife, a mother of two sons, a daughter and also the Principle of Shahida Azili Architect. She is the Senior Lecturer since 2017  at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, UTM. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Master of Engineering (Construction Management) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as well. Her specialty areas of research include construction management, professional practice, history and culture; and sustainable housing development. She is also a Secretary of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia Southern Chapter and a registered Architect with Board of Architect Malaysia.
