NUR AZAM ANUARUL PERAI

Senior Lecturer

I spent 19 years in the regional financial services industry, mainly in treasury, investment banking and capital markets and consultancy.

I am an Economics graduate from the University of Essex, holds an MBA specialising in Islamic banking and finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from the University of Stirling.

I was previously with Asia Pacific University as a senior lecturer and programme leader for the banking, finance and insurance programme.

My research interests are in the areas of economic sociology including the third sector, poverty, and social stratification. He is also an active member of the International Society for Third Sector Research and a holder of the Malaysian Financial Market Certificate (PKMC).

I joined UTM in August 2021. I teach Economics and Policy Analysis and my area of specialisation is economic sociology, in particular. poverty, migration and the third sector. I am also the Manager for AHIBS Executive education programmes.
