Ecstatic Education, Igniting Passion for Learning
With a commitment to excellence, we aim to foster an environment where enthusiasm and curiosity drive deep, together with meaningful learning, in empowering students to fully explore their potential
Ethics and manners are important for lecturers as they set the standard and expectations for their students. Facing new generation of students, I believe that upholding ethical values, passion, expertise, and knowledge are necessary to inspire and engage with students.
As a lecturer, this philosophy shapes my teaching manner and ethics, which are characterized by enthusiasm, empathy, providing ecstatic and transformative education, with deep commitment in students’ knowledge and character development. By fostering good communication and professional relationship, I hope to build trust, which helps students unlock their full potential, intellectually, personally, and overall character. My approach to education is centered on the idea that by leading with integrity and enthusiasm, since lecturer’s influence extends beyond the classroom, shaping the future professionals and good citizens they will become.
However, maintaining this ecstatic approach comes with challenges, such as sustaining consistent enthusiasm and passion, while maintaining work-life balance. To overcome these challenges, I focus on self-care, continuous spiritual and professional development, and personalized teaching strategies that engage diverse student interests and characters. By doing so, I ensure that my passion for teaching becomes meaningful learning experiences that empower students to excel academically and personally.

My Teaching Philosophy
Who am I
Knowing myself, I am an educator, an engineer, and a researcher to the bone. These identities are deeply embedded in who I am, each influencing how I arrived up to this point.
These roles are not just titles but core elements of my identity. I believe that education, intellectual curiosity, and life-long learning is the catalyst to explore my potential and pursue my goals. As an engineer, problem-solving skills and innovative mindset are essential in addressing the world’s pressing problems. My dedication to research highlights my belief in pursuing knowledge to advance understanding and expertise.
Ultimately, my goal is to harmonize these roles while contributing to my field. By doing so, I aim to push my boundaries, of course with integrity and creativity.
What I need to do
I recognize the invaluable role that seniors and mentors play in shaping my growth. Their wisdom and experience provide guidance for me and become my role models, as an educator, researcher, and scholar.
Equally important is the collaboration with peers, both within and outside my department. These interactions foster exchange of ideas and perspectives, broadening my understanding and opening path for collaborations in long term.
Most importantly, being humble and modest is necessary throughout my journey. The quote “Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real”, attributed to Thomas Merton, reminds me to be genuine, aware of my shortcoming, and open to learn and adapt from others.
My journey in learning
Despite the knowledge I have gained and experienced, I am aware that my journey of learning is far from complete. The more I dive into my subjects, the more I realize how vast the fields of technology and engineering truly are. There are countless things to learn, innovations to explore, challenges to overcome, and new methodologies to experience.
My journey as a lecturer in UTM has just begun. To be an effective educator, I aim to be the subject expert in my field that able to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential. For this, I will continuously refine my teaching methodologies, integrating innovative techniques and technology, and ensure my teachings are relevant and impactful.
