BIOGRAPHY


Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali is an accomplished academic with a diverse educational background. She received her B.E. degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2007 and pursued dual M.E. degrees from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2010 and 2011, respectively. In 2016, she obtained her Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Currently serving as the Director at UTM Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) and a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at UTM, Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali holds pivotal roles in the field of engineering education. She also serves as the Vice President for the Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) and contributes significantly to the Sakura Science Club Malaysia Chapter committee.

Her research interests span various domains, including Engineering Education, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobility Management, Sport Monitoring System, and Vehicular Communication. Dr. Nurzal has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in securing grants at both university and international levels, including the Transdisciplinary Research Grant, Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS), TERAJU, and ASEAN IVO grant.

Dr. Nurzal is highly regarded for her expertise in scholarly engineering education practices. She actively engages in consultation work focusing on Outcome Based Education (OBE), Problem Based Learning (PBL), and Student-Centered Learning (SCL) workshops, both locally and globally.

In addition to her research and consultancy engagements, Dr. Nurzal takes an active role in student affairs. She holds key positions at UTM, including Final Year Project Coordinator, Corporate and Branding committee member, Editor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Treasurer for Electrical Engineering Student Showcase, and Head of Event Management for Electrical Engineering Capstone Showcase.

Her dedication and contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Sakura Science Plan from the Japan Science and Technology Agency, Blended Teaching Award, Excellent Service Award, Community Service Award, and Teaching Award, underscoring her commitment to excellence in academia and student development.
