BIOGRAPHY


Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali received the B.E. (2007) degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She received two M.E. degree, which is from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan (2010) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2011). She received Ph.D (2016) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Now she holds a position as a Deputy Director in UTM Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) and Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM. Currently, she is a Vice President, Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) and Sakura Science Club Malaysia Chapter committee. Her research interest in the area of Electromagnetic Radiation, Engineering Education, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobility Management, Sport Monitoring System and Vehicular Communication. She managed to secure university, national and international grants such as Transdisciplinary Research Grant, Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS), TERAJU and ASEAN IVO grant. She is a practitioner in scholarly engineering education practices and involves in consultation work on Outcome Based Education (OBE), Problem Based Learning (PBL) as well as Student-Centred Learning (SCL) workshops locally and globally. Besides being active in research area and consultation work, she also active with students’ activities and hold several important roles in UTM such as Final Year Project Coordinator, Corporate, Branding and Social Media committee, Editor in School of Electrical Engineering, Treasurer for Electrical Engineering Student Showcase and Head of Event Manager for Electrical Engineering Capstone Showcase. She received several awards such as Sakura Science Plan from Japan Science and Technology Agency, Blended Teaching Award (2016-2021), Excellent Service Award (2018), Community Service Award (2019) and Teaching Award (2020).
