• Train the trainer: About 25 participants from various vocational college attended
• It covers theretical and practical training for almost 4 days
• Mine only on the 1st and 2nd days followed by my colleagues (Dr Azman and Mr Azril) on the remaining days

• Such a great pleasure and experience to deliver my first keynote presentation at International Geo-engineering Conference organised by Geotropik UTM on the 2nd day as the 3rd speaker
• So as the theme of this year’s conference is Promoting Sustainable & Innovative Geoengineering, so i presented something related to with the title “Stabilisation vs Carbonation/; Impacts on the Geoenvironmental Engineering”
• The content is within the scope of ground improvement.
• Previously most of the chemical stabiliser applied at site in known as traditional stabiliser (lime and cement).
• But it is well known that, cement and lime production comes with disadvantages, such as the high amount of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emits during the process and the fact that they are not sustainable materials. Thus due to sustainable approach the selection of stabiliser has take into account on reuse the available material such as waste and bi product material to sustain the environment to some extent.
• Still this kind of stabiliser will still provide the similar improvement like the traditional one.
• Quite recently when the world start to concern on climate change seriously not only to the environmentalist but as an engineer also we are trying to play our roles by looking forward to more green material, but still not to compromise with the engineering performance. But with more consideration towards minimizing the climate change by reducing the amount of green house gases (CO2) release to the environment. And not to forget to maintain the sustainable approach. Kind of killing 2 birds with 1 stone

• 2 days short course organize by Sarawak Skills (PPKS) for engineer from JKR Sarawak.
• It was me and Dr Dayang who was the trainer/speaker.
• The content is prepared based on the beginner level which more on the discussion about some relevant techniques applied in Ground Improvement method.

• Congratulation to Dr Ahmed for this award and definetely me as a supervisor felt so proud with this recognition
• He actually managed to finish before 3 years (submited his thesis at 5th sem) but due to my lack of awareness on the system etc, led him to only able to submit at 6th semester.
• Nevertheless, he is still consider grad on time (GOT) with excellent viva defence (minor correction)
• Officially i am graduating 3 doctorate students. Not a big number to brag about but enough for me to be satisfied at this stage.
• I hope you can be the best academician in future

• Not a progress meeting
• We just meet up for casual lunch at Istanbul Turkish Cuisine Restaurant, Horizon Hills
• 3 of them are those who did final year project with me, and another 3 are PhD students
• Till more makan2 next time

• It was perhaps a long journey to both coordinators (Dr Dayang and Dr Idham), not to forget Dr Haryati who helps in the initial stage.
• It tooks almost 3 years to come to this stage. In fact 2nd reading for MKAQ
• Hope for a better outcome ( perhaps increase in number of students) in future
