The students’ ideas and thought processes on their speculations on Bandar Sri Permaisuri (BSP) are presented in the form of a visual illustration called a manifesto. It is a form of academic pedagogy applied in this design studio through individual expressions about the future and speculative thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students participated in the future workshop led by Aiman to understand how thinking into the future can be developed within the preliminerary architectural design by speculating on the future possibilities of the site. The students went through the process of thinking into the future > Mapping the Futures > World Building > Manifesting the Futures using visual illustrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thinking about the future of BSP can be looked at from different perspectives or ‘domains’, either through technology or science, global issues and challenges, business viewpoints and future ambitions or visions of local people. By adopting existing manifestos from https:\/\/designmanifestos.org<\/a>, students began by mapping the context and consequences of the issues and placing their version of the future in a specific time frame (20 or 50 or more years) to create future scenarios. Students then explore the details of each future through a process called world-building, with detailed components within their scenarios represented in their manifestos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
