BIODATA
I am Dr. Rahimah Muhamad, specializing in Civil and Structural Engineering. I was born on November 14th, 1974, and I am passionate about advancing scientific research, teaching and education.
Currently, I am serving as a Director of of Smart Engineering and Advanced Technology, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence. I obtained my Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2012, where my research focused on tension stiffening in reinforced concrete beams and slabs.
My academic journey includes a Master’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering in 2003 and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1998 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

My teaching experience spans over 25 years since year 1999, covering in specific courses such as Mechanic Structure, Structural Analysis, Sustainable Building Technology, Sustainable Bridge and Transportation and university courses such as Research Methodology and Environmental Ethics. I am committed to fostering a stimulating learning environment and mentoring students in their academic and professional development.
As a researcher, my work has been published in several Web of Science journals and peer reviewed journals, including Construction and Building Materials, Engineering Structures, ASCE Composites for Construction, Advances in Structural Engineering.
Awards and honors include the Dean Commendation Awards from the Graduate School, University of Adelaide in 2012, Research Awards in AKP FTIR 2023 and 2022, Anugerah Khidmat Cemerlang FTIR 2023 and Teaching Awards in AKP FTIR 2021.
