ndia is the second most populated country in the world and very soon – if it is not already – it will be the first. And it’s not just about population. In terms of surface area it is also in the top 10, in seventh place. Moreover, in one way or another its economy is booming – or so many investors hope – and more and more companies are setting up production plants there. However, in spite of this, India is never included when it comes to talking about great powers. In some ways that has a lot to do with the current state of its armed forces, but more and more voices in New Delhi are calling for a change in this situation. Are we perhaps witnessing the beginnings of a new kind of cold war between China and India?
