Recording: Part 1  Part 2

Introduction

  • There will be a group assignment.
  • PLO vs CLO.

Integrated Learning

  • Strict Disciplinary Curriculum: Not relate to one another?
  • Integrated Curriculum: other course is related to another course. Implement experience to student.
  • Problem-Based Curriculum

CDIO

  • Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate
  • http://www.cdio.org/
  • Now all focus on research, lecturer should from industry.
  • Design-Build Experience: student should have experience to design. Start with small.
  • CDIO Workspace – provide lab inovative, have various lab, not specific, integrated tools, free environment.
  • totol 12 requirement…
  • CDIO is an educational framework.
  • CDIO need to be 2 level.
  • Promote work in group like CAPSTONE. EAC requirement.
  • CDIO Mapping. When learn, need to relate to other. Example: Mechatronic:  Red is language, green is mechanical. Need to have thinking, teamwork, Curriculum need to be develop continuously (vertically)

Design and Build:

  • Example: Smart Robot?, technical drawing CAT machine?
  • How to do assignment in Covid time?

Integrated Design Project

  • Should be done at the end of integrated coriculum.
  • Capstone is example.
  • Need to real live, not theory.
  • Need to be industry based. if not can be research or community based.
  • Have project management element.
  • require prototype.
  • Design thinking (No need to be expert on that particular area, focus on the process of design)
  • multidisciplinary
  • Example of Capstone project: Interview need to be done to ensure all do work. Peer review also. The mark need to be 50-50 between group and individual.

Design Thinking

  • design product for human-centered approach,  integrate needs of people (what people want), possible technology, need to be business success.
