Usually small company don’t have R&D, so use the university.
Save money and get R&D.
Start with small amount (RM20k to RM100k).
Pitch with LI student, during visit to company.
Pitch in class, maybe when they work, they may need your expertise.
International Grant
You need to have international network.
If grant from japan, you need someone from japan.
To get connection, go to conference or liaison officer.
Conference needs to have top professor.
Email after meet.
Meet people, mingle with other people.
Or attachment, you or your student.
Ex-supervisor or ex-student.
Publication
Should get student to write paper.
Not too focus on writing yourself.
Submit to a higher tier journal first (Q1 or Q2).
Special issue journal is easier to publish.
Try to co-write with other, especially other university or international lecturer.
Publish in journal that people search.
If you do self citation, make sure it is lower than 5.
Present conference, you may get citation.
Commercialization
Not only about paper, need to convert research to product.
Usually being ask when apply to professor.
Sell pattern or do a spin-off company.
Join INATEX. Learn how to pitch.
Consultancy
Promote you expertise.
Usually R&D that need to be finish faster.
Not use student, more on RO.
Better join senior lecturer that active in consultancy.
Cannot choose, learn on the job.
Can get IR easily.
Make courses/training to industry.
Can sell your expertise/promote research.
Community Service
Join professional sociaty or NGO, for networking.
Not only mmeber, become AJK.
Learn to talk diplomatically.
