After completing literature review, the student needs to focus on the methodology and result of the research for the second semester. The student has been ask to develop the suitable Gantt Chart for the second semester. Several key point has been made during the meeting:

  • Clarify the scope of the research – the student needs to focus on the supervisory control, and not the local control. Several papers have been shown to differentiate between this controllers. The student choose to focus on the supervisory control. This mean that there will be no voltage and current parameters during the simulation. There is also the mention of using m-file instead of Simulink when it comes to supervisory control.
  • Learn on the basic of the m-file programming. This includes the basic algebra, arrays, call data, if-else program, for algorithm, function programming [2 weeks].
  • Learn how to produce output using plot, log, bar, contour plotting function [1 week].
  • Build model in m-file that include the PV model, wind turbine model, battery model, grid model, static load, and the vehicle load mode. There will be no mention on the voltage and current for this model [8 weeks].
  • Student also expected to choose whether to use power or energy as the based of the coding.
  • Cost of the buying and selling of the energy from grid is also discussed.
  • The data needed by the model’s simulations
  • The algorithm used for the energy management in the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) system [12 weeks].
  • The sizing of the system.
