Rain Shelter House Climates Monitoring System for Agriculture Application
By MOHD RAZIMAN BIN MUHAMMAD
ABSTRACT
The rain shelter house is widely used in agriculture application. The rain shelter house is used to increase the quality and quantity of the product. But, if the rain shelter house is not well managed, a problem can occur such as ventilation problem. For that, the relationship between parameters considered needs to be studied to find cause and effect if the parameters are not monitored within a suitable range. For acquiring data for all parameters considered, sensors need to be used and connected to the data acquisition. Sensors need to be installed inside and outside the rain shelter house. Sensors used in this study are a temperature sensor, humidity sensor, anemometer, and irradiance sensor. Data from these sensors are acquired using LabVIEW software. The objectives of this study are to study the effect and relationships between temperature, humidity, wind speed, irradiance and to determine the suitable conditions for chili plantation. This process important to increase the quality and quantity of the product to support local necessity. The result shows temperature inside the rain shelter house is relatively high compared to outside because of heat trapped. For humidity, humidity inside the rain shelter house is relatively low compared to outside. Wind speed is needed to reduce the temperature inside the rain shelter house. Irradiance is directly proportional to the temperature because irradiance affects ambient temperature. As a conclusion, the conditions inside the rain shelter house depend on ambient condition.
