Biography

I’m Dr Rudzidatul Akmam Dziyauddin and currently a Senior Lecturer in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). I graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronics in 2000. I received my M.Sc. in Information Technology and Science Qualitative from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2004 and my PhD from University of Bristol, UK in 2012.

My expertise is on scheduling and resource allocation, Quality-of-Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE) and cross layer design between MAC and PHY layers.  I have introduced Greedy Latency and Dynamic Burst Mapping techniques in a single cell of WiMAX system, and then I expanded my research on Intercell Interference Coordination (ICIC) by introducing an adaptive Soft Frequency Reuse. This work is done during my internship at Toshiba Research Europe Limited (TREL) with a guidance of  great researchers over there. I managed to invent two patents (one main and one co-) that are filed in the UK as well in the USA.

And now, I’ve been investigating wireless sensors applications that involved hardware, such as Adruino, ARM processor, zigbee and so forth. Indeed, I’m still involved with the intercell interference mitigation technique and rural wireless communication in Royal Belum. My research interest is now towards wireless communication applications, however, a fundamental research of wireless communication based on simulations work is still in me. I’m looking forward to collaborate or to supervise those out there who are in the same boat.

So, come on.. sail with me!
