Saiful Anuar Bin Abu Bakar received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2004. He began his academic journey as a Research Officer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM, in 2007, before being appointed as a Tutor in 2009. Driven by his passion for research and teaching, he pursued a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at UTM, which he completed in 2009. His academic excellence and determination led him to further his studies, where he simultaneously pursued and completed two PhDs—one in Interdisciplinary Science and Technology from Tokai University, Japan, in 2013, and another in Mechanical Engineering from UTM in 2014. Currently, he is serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aeronautics, Automotive and Ocean Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM. He is also the Head of the Automotive Programme and formerly served as Deputy Director at the Automotive Development Centre, IVeSE. His expertise spans in the fields of vehicle dynamics and control, electric and hybrid vehicles, computer vision, autonomous vehicles, and remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs).
