Effect of misconduct on scientist

Misconduct in science is detrimental to the public, who trusted results or outcome from scientific activity were acquired honestly and done thoroughly. Not only the public, scientists found guilty of misconduct or linked to it, stand to lose their credibility, trusts from their colleagues, employers, or funders, and end of career. A few even led to tragic loss of life.
