Shafishuhaza Sahlan received her M.Eng (Hons.) degree in Control Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield UK in 2002. Following that, she received her Ph.D. in Advancement in Control System Engineering from the University of Western Australia in 2010. Attached with the School of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor, her research interest revolves around control system particularly process control system and their application in the industry, as well as control system algorithm and optimization. Currently, her research area of interest is on water treatment and distribution, energy management, supervisory control and monitoring system, system automation and model order reduction. She is a member of the IEEE, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), a member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) registered under Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology UK (IET) as well as a Chartered Engineer (CEng Reg. No 652281).
