He enjoys working and contributing towards the academic excellence at UTM for the past 26 years. He chose to be an academician because of the pleasure of being part of the team to produce civil engineers. Caring and giving responses to students’ needs have always been his prime concern. This is in line with his motto “your satisfaction is my pleasure”.
For the past 14 years, he has been given the responsibility to be part of the faculty and UTM administrative team in managing academic programmes. Amongst the post that he has assumed are the head of Department of Structures and Materials, IT Manager, Deputy Dean (Academic), Director of Academic Quality and currently since 2009, as the Dean of the faculty. He was also appointed as the Chairman of the UTM Engineering Dean Council and also served the Engineering Accreditation Department, Board of Engineers as the Associate Director. He is fortunate to be part of the team actively contributing towards quality education in Malaysia. He is one of the key players in Malaysia in implementing the Outcome Based Education (OBE) approach and applying Quality Assurance Practices in Teaching and Learning. He has conducted and given lectures in more than 100 series of courses and workshops. Currently he is the Chairman for the Society of Engineering Education Malaysia.
