Usman Ullah Sheikh received his bachelor’s degree in mechatronics (2003), master’s degree in telecommunications engineering (2005) and PhD degree (2009) in image processing and computer vision from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is currently a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for over 15 years. He is also the Postgraduate Academic Manager at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering where he oversees the management of postgraduate studies. He is a member of IEEE Signal Processing Society Malaysia Chapter and held several positions as an executive member. His research work is mainly on computer vision, machine learning and embedded systems design. Under his supervision, he has graduated 7 PhD students, published in various journals and conferences and obtained many national and international awards. He has served as program committee in IEEE ICIP, IEEE ICSIPA, ICEST, ECE, SIE and many other international conferences.
