Developing new magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) method for the analysis of real kelulut honey sample

The analysis of polyphenols is a very promising way of studying floral and geographical origins of honeys include kelulut honey

Developing magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in aqueous samples

Drug pollution is pollution of the environment with pharmaceutical drugs or their metabolites, which usually reach the aquatic environment such as groundwater, rivers, lakes, and oceans through wastewater. Monitoring the concentration of pharmaceutical pollutants in aquoues samples is significant as they are harmful even at low concentration.

Biodata
Currently, I work as a professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia. Formerly I was the the Deputy Dean Academic of Faculty of Science, UTM from Nov 2012-Jan 2015 and Head of Department of Chemistry from April 2010-October 2012. Present is the Panel Head for Analytical Chemistry & Instrumentation and Head of Separation Science and Technology (SepSTec) Group. Research interest is in the area of green analytical sample preparation methods which includes SBSE, SPME, SPE, DSPE, DuSPE, MSPE, LPME, SFE for environmental, food and pharmaceutical analysis. Preparation of new sol-gel hybrid materials and magnetic materials based on silica and graphene for applications in green analytical extraction are also of interest. Other research area of interest is in the field of chiral separations using capillary electrophoresis and micellar electrokinetic chromatography for drugs of interest, metal ions and also pesticides. I am also interested in the provenance of stingless bee honey and its analysis.
