Promotion of Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research Network

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is a member institution of the Promotion of Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research Network (ProSPER.Net), which is an alliance of leading universities in the Asia-Pacific region that are committed to integrating sustainable development into postgraduate courses and curricula. As a member institution, UTM postrgraduate students (PhD and Masters) are invited to submit application to participate in the following programme:

To apply, students need to complete the 2019 ProSPER.Net Young Researchers’ School Application Form and email it together with a recommendation letter from main supervisor to ProSPER.Net Secretariat (yrs@unu.edu). The application form and the programme tentative are as forwarded. Please refer to the application form for information on scholarship and selection criteria.
Hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada, the YRS will give participants the opportunity to engage with issues related to Ecosystem-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) in the context of the tropics, whilst developing research and communication skills, as well as further encouraging future professionals to work within the field. Participants will also develop an understanding of the issues and problems related to hazards and disasters within the context of the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The YRS will consist of in-class components (lectures, practical/individual/group assignments, presentations, and discussion sessions) as well as field trips held in Yogyakarta and the surrounding area.
