\"\"<\/a>Ts. Dr. Wan Mohd Nasir Wan Kadir is a Professor in Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He received his BSc. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia<\/a>, MSc. from\u00a0UMIST<\/a>, and Ph.D. from\u00a0The University of Manchester<\/a>. He has been an academic staff at the Faculty of Computing for over 25 years (since 1997). He was the Head of the Software Engineering Department<\/em> from 2005 to 2009, Deputy Dean (Development)<\/em> of the Faculty of Computing from 2010 to 2015, Deputy Director<\/em> of the Center for Academic Leadership and Professional Development (CALPD), UTMLead from 2015 to 2016, Director<\/em> of CALPD from 2016-2018, and Chair of the School of Computing from 2019-2022. He is currently the Dean <\/strong>of the Faculty of Computing<\/a>, UTM. He is also currently the Chairman<\/strong> of the Malaysia Council of ICT Deans (MaDICT) and Head of the ICT Cluster<\/strong> at the National Council of Professors (MPN).<\/p>\n

He was invited as the Keynote Speaker<\/em> of the ICT-ISPC 2013<\/a>\u00a0and MySEC 2014<\/a>, and Invited Speaker<\/em> of the InfoTech 2014<\/a>. He is also the Chairman of\u00a0the 2nd Malaysian Software Engineering Conference (MySEC’06)<\/a>, and a member of the pro-tem committee<\/em> of the Malaysian Software Engineering Interest Group (MySEIG). He serves as a Program Committee<\/em> member of the Int. Conf. on Software Engineering Advances\u00a0(ICSEA 2010, ICSEA 2009,\u00a0<\/a>ICSEA’08<\/a>)<\/a>, the Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2013<\/a>,\u00a0APSEC 2012<\/a>,\u00a0APSEC 2011<\/a>,\u00a0APSEC 2010, APSEC 2009, APSEC 2008<\/a>), the 5th & 4th International Conference on Software and Data Technologies (ICSOFT 2010, ICSOFT 2009\u00a0<\/a>), the 6th, 5th & 4th Int. Conf. on Novel Approaches to Software Engineering (ENASE 2011<\/a>,\u00a0ENASE 2010, ENASE 2009\u00a0<\/a>), the 9th ACIS Int. Conf. on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking, and Parallel\/Distributed Computing (SNPD2008)<\/a>, and the Malaysian Software Engineering Conference\u00a0(MySEC’15<\/a>,\u00a0MySEC’14<\/a>, MySEC’13<\/a>,\u00a0MySEC’12<\/a>,\u00a0MySEC ’11<\/a>,\u00a0MySEC’07 & MySEC’08)<\/a>. Most of the proceedings are published by IEEE.<\/p>\n

Wan has been\u00a0teaching<\/a> various Software Engineering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is actively involved in the design and implementation of Software Engineering curricula in UTM such as Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering), M.Sc. in Software Engineering, and Eng. Doctorate (Software Engineering). He was appointed as a member of the Board of Studies at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Monash University Malaysia, and Southern Univ College. He is also actively participating in academic program accreditation under the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), a national body for the accreditation of academic programs.<\/p>\n

He is an active researcher and consultant with a number of past and current projects. His research interest<\/a>\u00a0covers various SE knowledge areas based on the motivation to\u00a0reduce the cost<\/em>\u00a0of development and maintenance as well as to\u00a0improve the quality<\/em> of large and complex software systems. His work has been supported by numerous research grants totalling in excess of RM 1 million. His recent projects include KVMRT2 and SME-HIP1, where he plays a role as a Software Quality Assurance consultant.
