“Look for intelligence and judgment and, most critically, a capacity to anticipate, to see around corners. Also look for loyalty, integrity, a high energy drive, a balanced ego and the drive to get things done.” – Colin Powell
On month of April every year, there’s a special day for Secretary / Personal Assistant (P.A). These two positions is not much different. Same but there’s few job which P.A more focus on one particular person — boss in the department/company. I’m happy for having this job as my career and its almost half of my age sacrificing & trying my best to fullfill all tasks. Alhamdulillah, syukur.
It has been 2 years i didn’t attend any course / seminar / workshop for Secretaries as i did in previous years since 1998. Alasan : kekangan kerja. Hakikatnya? Penat kot. if i’m lucky enough i’ll meet my x Jengkarian coursemates / juniors. Mostly senior dah tak pergi seminar/kursus ni.
Working in this field for most workaholic person – tough, need full focus, attention, determination, being responsible to your boss, patience & more creative. No offence, most of them has their own special attitude. And me? Just being myself. Please don’t compare with 20 @ 15 years back, that time darah muda lagi, zaman jahiliah..haha.
I was thinking to continue back my studies in Human Resource (HR) which stranded since 2009 (UTMSPACE), dah buat PSM 1 kot.. but i quit 4 years later. Someone told me i’m stupid enough. Jujur, aku terasa. But i do had my own personal excuses (biarlah rahsia). Lagipun duit study bayar sendiri apa..dengan duit gaji yang tak seberapa, no PTPTN or whatsoever. I missed another USM registration, memang sengaja. Istikharah nak ambil course apa, pastinya telinga ni kena bebel dengan Ba dah lebih puluh kali. Masih lagi belum kuat untuk meneruskan pengajian PART TIME. Kena sacrifice banyak benda dalam hidup, personal and family. Even ko takde masa nak berjimba atau travel sana sini (i quit as a traveler? oh..mai gad. No way!) Keep on pursuing myself, memujuk hati. InshaAllah..satu hari nanti saya sambung belajar ya.
“When we are debating an issue, loyalty means giving me your honest opinion, whether you think I’ll like it or not. Disagreement, at this stage, stimulates me. But once a decision has been made, the debate ends. From that point on, loyalty means executing the decision as if it were your own.” – Colin Powell
