Info ICT (9): CYBER SECURITY ADVISORY : Possible data breach and confidential document exposed for espionage activity

Dear All,

Please be informed that UTMDigital has received a notification email from MyCERT regarding above subject.

 

MyCERT (Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team) observed an increase in number of artifacts and victims involving a campaign against Malaysian Government officials by a specific threat group. The group motives is believe to be  data theft and exfiltration.

 

This attack is focus on a following Windows and Microsoft users :

 

  • Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, and Windows RT Gold and 8.1.
  • Microsoft Office 2007 SP3, Microsoft Office 2010 SP2, Microsoft Office 2013 SP1, Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 .

Therefore, all users are urged to improve the security of ICT devices.

 

Install a antivirus immediately to secure your files and devices from viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware and other online threats.

 

New antiviruas license for UTM is available for download through MyUTM Portal/Software Centre/UTM Software/Trend Micro Antivirus.
