A sabbatical leave is granted to the eligible faculty member. In my case, after holding the administrative posts in the university for almost 10 years, I’ve been given a sabbatical leave from 1 April until 31 December 2021 (9 months). This means that I’ve been release from normal academic duties in order to advance my research, write books and article journals.<\/p>\n

Sabbatical leave does not mean you are on holiday! You have to meet the set KPIs. For me, it\u2019s like doing a \u201cmini\u201d PhD in a shorter period of time. But I am not complaining since I’m able to spend more time with my children at home. It’s a win-win situation \"cool\"<\/p>\n

The KPIs are based on certain categories. I’ve chosen “Category B” therefore my KPIs are (1) An original book, and (2) Two journal articles & conference presentations. But not to worry, I’m sure you will end up producing more than two journal articles.<\/p>\n
