James G Marsh (1939-1991)

Anyone reading on the development of geopotential model must came across a familiar name – James G Marsh. James worked at the Laboratory for Terrestrial Physics, Goddard Space Flight Center since 1964.

He was a prominent NASA contributor in the field of Satellite Geodesy and was instrumental in developing
a space geodesy capability at Goddard since the middle-1960’s. Among his publication was “GEOS-II and 13th order terms of the geopotential” source – Gfsc 1969.
