Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with Johor State Education (JPNJ) and Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (KEAA) has been organizing the Low Carbon Society (LCS): Problem Based Learning since the early of 2016. This is the 3rd year the same program is organized, the difference is just that more schools are participating.<\/p>\n

2016 – 3 Schools
\n2017 – 6 Schools
\n2018 – 12 Schools<\/span><\/p>\n

I was fortunate to be invited once again as the jury. This is the 3rd time in 3 years. Earlier I was a jury in 2016 (hosted by Sekolah Engku Tun Aminah (SETA)) followed by 2017 (hosted by Sekolah Hidayah).
\n.
\nThis year, the Semi Final is carried out at Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP) Hall, Skudai in conjunction with the Seminar Iskandar Malaysia towards Low Carbon Society organized by MBIP, Sustainable Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA), UTM and Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA).

\nLCS PBL is one year learning activity and this event is for the students to showcase their proposals of solution towards low carbon issues at their schools or community around schools. There were 36 posters from 12 schools. The best 6 posters will proceed to the finals, which is held on the same day, after lunch.
\n.
\nFrom this event, we can see how enthusiastic and intelligent the students are. We can actually bring the best out of them, if we have the correct method, technique, guide to train the students. We can see that since February\/ March this year, the students were trained using Active Learning (AL), Cooperative Learning (CL) and Cooperative Problem Based Learning (CPBL). The product from this program is a more confident students equipped with imperative soft skills. Hence, more program such as this must be developed and organized. Massive supports from the authority and schools as well as the experts ensured the success of this program.
