However, recently, a more superior measure was used which is the h-index.<\/p>\n<p>So, what is h-index?<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">H-index<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is an index<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that attempts to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">measure both the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">productivity and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">citation<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">body of work<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">published in the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">scientific and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">akateemisia.Indeksi<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">based on the number<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">most cited<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">scientific articles and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the number of citations<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">received<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in other publications.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">The index<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">can be applied to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the productivity and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">effectiveness of the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">academic journal<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a group of scientists<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">such as<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">department or university<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">or country.<\/span><span class=\"hps\"> The<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">index<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">was proposed<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in 2005<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">by Jorge<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">E.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Hirsch,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a physicist<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">at UCSD<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">as a means to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">determine the relative<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">quality of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a theoretical physicist<\/span> <span class=\"hps atn\">&#8220;<\/span>,\u00a0 <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">sometimes called the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Hirsch<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Hirsch<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">index<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">or number.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The index is based on the distribution of <a title=\"Citation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citation\">citations<\/a> received by a given researcher&#8217;s publications.
