Mahadhir Mohamed, 40, is a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering since 2001 and a research member of Chemical Reaction Engineering Group (CREG) since 1998. He is a registered Graduate Engineer of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) since 2006 and Associate Member of IChemE since 2008. He received a Bachelor and Master Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1997 and 2000.

His main research interest is catalyst and reaction engineering. His current research is catalytic conversion of glycerol and biodiesel production using heterogeneous catalyst. Previously, he involved in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) research area.

He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Chemical Reaction Engineering Group (CREG), Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, under supervision of Associate Professor Dr Ramli Mat and Professor Dr Nor Aishah Saidina Amin. His research is on the catalytic conversion of glycerol to produce value added chemicals.
