Raja Marzyani is a lecturer at Razak’s Faculty of Technology, in the Department of Science, Management, and Design. Her expertise includes Facilities Management, Asset Maintenance, Building Services, and the Built Environment. She earned her doctorate in Facilities Management in 2016 and holds a Master’s degree in Facilities Management and Asset Maintenance from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK.
She has been a member of the Malaysian Association of Facility Management (MAFM) since June 2010. Her administrative experience includes serving as the Postgraduate Master Project Coordinator for the Faculty of AI (FAI) and the Programme Coordinator for the Executive Diploma in Facilities Management (RFTI) since early 2024.
Raja Marzyani began her professional career in 2001 as a Project Executive at Muhibbah Engineering (M) Berhad. In 2002, she became a tutor at the Faculty of Built Environment at UTM Skudai, Johor. She was formally appointed as a lecturer in 2005 and has since served in various faculties and departments, including the Faculty of Built Environment, Centre of Diploma Studies, Department of Registrar, and currently, the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence.
Since 2003, Raja Marzyani has actively participated in numerous faculty and university committees. Her recent and ongoing contributions include serving as a member of the Task Force Seminar Perkongsian Program Akademik AI. She was also a Liaison Officer for Sekretariat Pelaksana UTM Bagi Majlis Malaysia, Artificial Intelligence Nexus 2024, a Subject Matter Expert for Courseware Development for Online Courseware, and a PPD SPACE Green Manager for Green Manager for PTJ. She has also worked as an exhibitor at the FACON Education Fair (2012, 2014) and JOM MASUK U Carnival (2012, 2014). Additionally, she served as a Secretariat Member for the 1st International Conference on Construction Industry (ICCI 2006) in Padang, Indonesia.
Raja Marzyani has extensive teaching experience across different academic levels. She has taught Diploma courses, including Introduction to Facility Management, Principles of Management, and Building Management. At the Bachelor’s level, she has lectured on Construction Safety and Building Services. For Postgraduate programs, she has taught Research Methodology, Services and Maintenance of Infrastructure Assets, and Service Life Planning and Asset Management.
She has also supervised Master’s students as both a Main Supervisor and a Co-Supervisor. Additionally, she has contributed her expertise at the national level, serving as a committee member for the Program dan Aktiviti Minggu Sains Negara Keluarga Malaysia (MSNKM 2022).
Since 2024, she has been actively involved in university and faculty-level initiatives. Currently, she is the Project Leader for a research project exploring Stakeholders’ Motivations and Barriers in the Circular Economy’s Product Life Extension Initiative Approach for Building Asset Management. She has also participated in other research projects since 2022.
Raja Marzyani has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles at both national and international levels, publishing her work since 2015. She has also co-authored and presented at various conferences and proceedings alongside her colleagues. Her academic journey as a presenter began in 2006 at the International Conference of the Construction Industry in Padang, Indonesia. Most recently, she co-authored a paper for the 2nd International E-Conference on Green & Safe Cities (IEGRESAFE), UiTM.
Currently, Raja Marzyani holds several administrative positions, including serving as the course coordinator for the Executive Diploma in Facility Management (EDFM) program. She continues to pursue her passion for research, teaching, and learning.
