19 Jan 2024 – Wrapping Up the Spectrometric Method for Analysis Class with Active Learning
As the semester draws to a close, we concluded the Spectrometric Method for Analysis class with one final active learning activity designed to deepen students’ understanding of composite sample preparation: the Coning and Quartering Technique.
This hands-on activity provided students with practical insights into an essential method for achieving representative samples, a critical step in analytical chemistry. By engaging in this active learning session, students not only honed their technical skills but also reinforced their understanding of the importance of precision and accuracy in spectrometric analysis.
Active learning has always been a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy, and I believe such practical sessions prepare students to tackle real-world challenges with confidence and competence.
I’m proud of the progress my students have made throughout this course, and I look forward to seeing how they apply these skills in their future endeavors.
Here’s to nurturing the next generation of analytical chemists!
